It's about time

Long delayed updates. Working on my adepticon team army. Space Wolves! I am doing Logan Grimnar's Great Wolf Company. My biggest roadblock was the lack of correct decals or shoulder pads. I ended up using my laser cutter to make a push mold to create the Wolf that stalks pads.

'ard Boyz Trophies

Games Workshop (US) commissioned me again to make the 40k 'ard Boyz trophies. They are 1:1 scale versions of Ork weapons used in the game.

Enjoy.

Leviathan progress

The Leviathan is progressing well. I have started the detailing of the haul and should have the tracks mounted this weekend.

And now something completely different

I have restarted my 40k scale Leviathan project. The first one was a little undersized and I only got the basic shape done. The new one should be spot on, well at least to me.

3 sets of Baneblade tracks, 3 sheets of 18" x 24" x 1/8" acrylic and a pile of GW city terrain sets.

Here is the epic model I'm using for the basis - Image belongs to Kaptain Kobold on flicker

More Soon!

A sad day for Nurgle

So the demise of the 2009 GT season has put a damper on my building. This army was to be for the Baltimore GT that has been canceled. Damn you GW!!!!!!!! (cue planet of the apes scene)

Current WIP, Nurgle Defiler. Still need to finish the front claws. The power cables are my new favorite hobby supply. Dragon forge makes white metal cables that are a world better then trying to use guitar strings. Dave Taylor pointed me to these little gems.

Nurgle Paint scheme and Mr. Surfacer

Test paint scheme for my Nurgle army. I want to go with a less gooey look that tends to be the standard for this army. I want more rust and patinas for the armor and the "goo" saves for where flesh has broken threw.

For the rust I'm use a texture technique used by scale tank builders. You use a product called Mr. Surfacer to give it a textured surface to mimic deteriorating metal.
